About Us
Dedicated Instructor
Michael Williams is a police veteran, who spent 25 years serving and protecting the community. During his tenure, he was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Bureau where he worked as a Detective. Later, he was assigned to Youth Services where he initiated and oversaw several community and school based youth programs. He was also a Hostage Negotiator, who led and negotiated many successful incidents over two decades. Mr. Williams received many life saving awards, certificates, and commendations throughout his career.
High-Quality Firearm Equipment
Brass Shield Firearm Training will provide a safe clean learning environment for it's participants. You will be shown different firearms as well as different types of ammunition.
Programs
Handgun Qualification License (HQL) or Conceal and Carry Certification
Handgun Qualification License (HQL) - This is a 4 hour face-to-face course that will consist of comprehensive instruction for individuals to gain the necessary knowledge and skills for safe and responsible firearm usage and ownership. Below choose your date and click the link below to sign up!
Conceal and Carry Certification - This is a 16 hour face -to-face course divided into two 8 hour days of instruction including gun range. This two day training course as required by Maryland is for those who wish to obtain a Maryland wear and carry permit. Below choose your date and click the link below to sign up!
Home Defense
Both the 4 and 16 hour courses offered will provide information on home defense. The instructor will talk about the use of force, as well as a wealth of other important information.
Refresher Course
If you want a refresher course on firearm usage and safety, Brass Shield Firearm Training is the place for you. We offer a 1 hour refresher on gun handling and shooting at the gun range. Below choose your date and click the link below to sign up!
If you do not see a date and time that works for you, our instructor is flexible. You can request a date and time that works for you by clicking the Contact Form link. The instructor will respond to requests as soon as possible.
Gun Range
All firearm training and usage will take place at Guntry Maryland. It is a state of the art gun range located in Owings Mills, Maryland. This facility has a pro shop, cafe, simulator, firearms sales, firearm rentals, ammunition sales, as well as protective gear sales. It even has an arcade room and a cigar lounge.
This state of the art facility has everything you will need for your shooting needs. We ask that all our participants taking a class through Brass Shield Firearm Training, please click the link below and view the video and complete the waiver prior to your arrival at Guntry, Maryland. If this is not done prior to your arrival, this will take time and will have to be completed at Guntry, which will hold up the class. Thank you for your understanding.
